Dr. Mimms Presents Inc. is pleased to announce the 2022 Let The Strings Speak Africa Concert this year at the historical Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute.

This year’s concert will immerse you in the spirit of Africa by showcasing an array of local artists and the journey of healing music from Africa to America.  The show will be Live in person, as well as streamed for our audience still staying safe at home or outside of the Seattle area, on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2pm PDT.

Six years ago, Dr. Mimms created this community concert as a way to integrate music, intergenerational connectivity and healing. The journey continues; this year's Musical Director is the phenomenal  Josephine Howell along with a dream team of amazing women.

There are many ways for all to participate and support the show with sponsorship, donations, program book ads and the Standing on the Shoulders  campaign.

After 2 years of Covid and the exposure of the injustices present in our communities, I am thrilled to be back in the historical Langston Hughes Performing Institute.  I am honored to continue to showcase local talent and provide an intergenerational experience for healing through music. Please join us!
