Dear Supporters,

Is it time for Healing? I think so!

At 95 years young, I am excited to present this year's concert, Let the Strings Speak Truth; using the vibrations of string instruments as the foundation for the music, adding dance and spoken word, stimulating all of your senses. The listener and observer are welcomed to a musical journey and a true celebration of African American culture.

This showcase is more than a concert; it is a vehicle for healing that utilizes a collaborative approach, bringing together local musicians and entertainers to an intergenerational audience at the iconic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. Langston is a hub for Black arts and culture where Black brilliance is cultivated.

It's been my vision for many years to make this happen but there is a team that pulls together the dream. I would like to publicly thank Mona & Lesa Terry, for the first five years of support as the Artistic Directors. I am delighted that Josephine Howell is returning this year as the Musical Director, along with Michael Powers after a phenomenal showcase last year. Producer, Twanda Hill has been with me from the beginning and has assembled a dream team of professionals that allows the work to continue and the load shared. My thanks to all of them for enabling my vision to continue. Whether it's string instruments or music from the Soul, the vibrations generated will continue to bring about healing and truth.

Ticket sales are available at varied levels using the "Pay What You Can Model" so that everyone can attend without financial barriers. In order to create a community event of this magnitude, we rely on sponsors, donors and advertisers like you for support. We serve the community, and we challenge you to support this endeavor. The Shoulders On Which We Stand is a simple way to give; 100 donors at $100 every year. I believe we can do it!
